Workshop schedule
DAY 1: PARK TOUR & TIME LAPSE BASICS
Our first day begins with a scouting tour of Acadia National Park. As we adventure around the Park Loop Road, we’ll discuss the basics of time lapse (camera set up, intervals, frame rates), what to look for, and how to set up for compositions at each location we visit. The park will be our canvas for the duration of our stay and it’s full of beauty waiting to be captured. Upon the completion of our scouting tour, we'll return back to the hotel with a few hours of down time. Grab a bite to eat, explore Bar Harbor, and catch a little rest. We'll plan to head back out into the park before sunset to capture our first time lapse sequences of the in field workshop.
DAY 2: THE TIME LAPSE WORKFLOW
The second day of our workshop begins in the class room with an extensive, step by step workflow between Lightroom and LRTimelapse. Here, we will import hundreds of images and learn to create single time lapse sequences. Once we have wrapped our classroom session, plan for a period of rest. We'll then head back into the park to gather more time lapse sequences during sunset and as the sky transitions into night.
DAY 3: CREATING TIME LAPSE CLIPS
Day three will start in the classroom where the learned workflows of creating a time lapse sequence will be applied and practiced on the sequences captured on day two. Once we've rendered out a few more sequences, well take a break for food and rest then spend the rest of the evening exploring the park, creating time lapse sequences. We'll plan to visit a variety of different locations scouted on day one, during the park tour. We'll continue through sunset into night with hopes of capturing the Milky Way Galaxy passing through the night skies.
DAY 4: CREATING A SHORT FILM
Our final day begins in the classroom where we will introduce you to Adobe Premiere Pro and the steps taken to create a short film. We will bring together multiple time lapse clips captured around the park, accompany the sequence with gravitating music tracks or sound effects, add text & watermarks, and create post pans & zooms with an end goal of producing a short film.
